Arsenal’s growing understanding in midfield is setting the team up for a bright future, according to Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman, who celebrates his 21st birthday on Boxing Day, is one of a number of rising stars in Arsène Wenger’s engine room.

The likes of Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin and Emmanuel Frimpong have broken into the first team in recent seasons while Mikel Arteta and Alex Song offer vital experience in that area.

“There's plenty of young talent there and we have to bond even more and gel as a team throughout the years,” Ramsey told Arsenal Player. “Hopefully we'll make it successful for many years.

“It's important that you have that core, that you've been together for a few years and you understand each other.

“It'll only make us stronger because you realise what to do on the pitch.”
