Aaron Ramsey... speaking to Arsenal TV Online

Ramsey 'feeling good' on road to recovery

By Chris Harris

Aaron Ramsey is "feeling good" as he continues on his long road to recovery.

The Arsenal midfielder suffered a double leg fracture at Stoke City on February 27 and knows all about the negative aspects of such a traumatic experience. But Ramsey believes he can take a big positive from that fateful day and hopes to be back in action in the not-too-distant future.

"I'm feeling good and positive. I can see little improvements so that's encouraging," he told Arsenal TV Online.

"I think the positive [of a serious injury] is that it can test what sort of character you are, whether you can come through it and come out a better person for it at the end. Hopefully that's what I can do.

"I'm not sure when I will be back, they [the medical staff] can only take it every few weeks or every month. Basically I just have to build my muscles back up to handle my body weight on one leg. As soon as that is back up and the bones heal properly, I can start running again."

Subscribers can now watch an exclusive interview with Aaron on Arsenal TV Online. He discusses:

  • walking unaided so soon after the injury
  • messages from fans and sportsmen
  • the boredom of a long-term injury
  • his recollections of the injury
  • the next stage of his recovery
  • the positive of such a traumatic experience
