Arsène Wenger faced the media on Thursday morning ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Here's a round-up of some of the manager's quotes. For the main headlines, visit our Digest page:
on the expectations of Jack Wilshere…
He can cope with it mentally. Football is fantastic when you can play. That is one thing that Jack has learnt in that long spell he was out, because 17 months in a life of a young boy is massive. I just want him to enjoy playing football. He loves football, he loves to play and the most important thing is he keeps that happiness on the pitch.
on whether a referee has ever offended his players…
Yes. I must say, honestly, that my deep feeling with that is that I was not always completely behaving very well in this situation, because they are very heated situations. But I am a deep supporter of [finding a solution] internally. For example, the last two nights were great adverts for football and that is absolutely fantastic. For the rest, I believe one of the great things in sport is the battle. When it is on in football, especially in England, you can sort out the problems you had internally. If it becomes a sport to make the lawyers rich, I am not a fan of it. One of the great things in sports as well is tolerance, forgiveness and explanation internally and I think it should stay like that. It can happen that a referee doesn't behave well, I do not say they are angels, but it is always better to sort it out in the room.
