Arsène Wenger faced the media on Friday morning ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Here's a round-up of some of the manager's quotes. For the main headlines, visit our Digest page:
on Olivier Giroud...
I am very happy with his attitude and commitment. He misses goals at the moment but that will come, I am not worried about that. I am absolutely convinced he will be successful.
on Vito Mannone's opportunity…
Football is down to competition and performances. It is a good opportunity for Mannone to show the quality that I believe he has. The games, up until now, indicate he has quality. If he keeps doing well it is a good opportunity for him.
on the Ryder Cup...
I’m a big fan because it becomes a team sport. I’m not a golf specialist but when it becomes a team sport I find it very interesting. It’s like in tennis when it becomes the Davis Cup. I love the magic of team sport that means one plus one is not necessarily two, but can be three or four and can be one and a half as well. I’m always interested in that. I watch and it’s really good to see individual sport, when they have to transform their energy into a team energy. It’s interesting to see that when they share, it becomes more intense, and more interesting as well.
