Lukas Podolski is confident Arsenal will challenge at the top of the Premier League after breaking their scoring duck at Anfield on Sunday.
The Germany international claimed his first goal for the Club against Liverpool while another new signing, Santi Cazorla, added a second.
Podolski feels the victory was just reward after two frustrating goalless draws, and says it will propel the team to even greater heights.
“We played very well in the first two matches. But when you don’t have the three points, the press write that you play no good,” he said. “But I think we played very well, we just didn’t score a goal.
“We had control of the game and only in the last 10 minutes were Liverpool able to [apply] a little bit more pressure. But we were the best team and we won.
“This is the Premier League and you must fight and run. We do this very well and we pass very well. This is my style of football - I like the style of Arsenal and we have the three points.
“But you must not be happy just with these three points - we want more.”Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 3 Sep 2012
