Lukas Podolski admits his equaliser against West Ham United was a “great” strike but the German forward was just as proud of his hat-trick of assists.
Podolski was in scintillating form at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, arrowing in a first-half goal from 25 yards to restore parity before laying on three more for his team-mates in a crazy four-minute spell at the start of the second period.
I had a little bit of space and had the ball on my left foot. You must be a little bit lucky but the goal was great, yeah!
“It’s not only important to score goals,” Podolski told Arsenal Player. “When you play on the left side, it’s always important to see your colleagues on the pitch. It was good but in the end, the three points [are most important].

“I think we played very well,” added Podolski. “After the 1-0 for West Ham, we showed our character and I think the second half was great. It was a fantastic start with four goals in 10 minutes.
“What’s important is that we have the three points and I think we are a little [bit] back [to our best].”Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 24 Jan 2013
