Lukas Podolski says Arsenal's collective responsibility for goals will hold them in good stead this season.

By the end of last November, Robin van Persie had scored 17 of the first team's 40 goals in all competitions. At the same stage this year Arsenal have 45 goals in total, shared among 14 different scorers.

Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla - the three major summer signings - have 18 between them while Theo Walcott tops the Club's scoring charts with nine. Podolski has seven and he believes Arsenal are now a threat from all over the pitch.

"Yes, it's important to share the goals," he told Arsenal Player.

"Last season there was one guy, Robin van Persie, who scored 30 goals or more. Now we have four of five players who score five, six, seven or eight goals.

"I think this is important when a good player leaves the Club, it's important for some other players to score the goals."

Back in August, when Podolski was working his way towards full fitness, he declared: "You will soon see the real Podolski." Last week's stunning volley against Montpellier was evidence that the Germany international feels increasingly at home.

"For now I think it is good but I think I can be better," said Podolski. "I think I can score more goals, to help the team and take some assists. But I think for now it is good and I keep trying to get more.

"I feel good, I feel good in the team and the club. We need some more points to get up in the Premier League but I think when we play like we did against Tottenham we will get the points.

"I have settled very well, it is not a problem," he added. "I like the people here in England, they are very easy [to get on with]. I like the city where I live and the atmosphere is great. It's not a problem for me."
