On July 22, 2006 Arsenal waved goodbye to one of the greatest players in the Club's history with Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial.

The game, the first to be played at the newly-opened Emirates Stadium, saw a sell-out crowd pay tribute the Dutch master during the match against his former club, Ajax.

The likes of Ian Wright, Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Vieira and Marc Overmars returned for the Gunners, while Dutch legends Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten came on for Ajax in the last 10 minutes.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar had the honour of scoring the first goal at stadium in a first half, before Thierry Henry restored parity when he converted Lee Dixon's cross.

Ronald de Boer then blazed a penalty over the bar for Ajax, before Kanu secured the win for hosts and Bergkamp was given a rousing send-off by the Arsenal fans.
