Mesut Ozil says Arsene Wenger did not need to sell Arsenal to him - because he already knew it was the right move for him.
The Germany international completed a club record move to Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day and could make his debut on Saturday.
Ozil cannot wait to start the latest chapter in his career and believes he will only get better under Wenger’s tutelage.
“[He didn't] have to say a whole lot about the Club,” the 24-year-old said. “I know how successful Arsenal have been and what successful players they have had - players like Henry, Fabregas.
“So I know that the step here is the right one for me because many young players came here and got better and became the best players in the world. This is why I wanted to come here.
“I look forward to playing with the whole team. We are one team and we have a goal with the team. We want to go our way together and therefore I look forward to playing with everybody.”
