Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted he was "blown away" by the reception the Arsenal team received upon arriving in Malaysia on Sunday afternoon.

The England forward is making his first trip to the Far East and, shortly after landing in Kuala Lumpur, he took part in a press conference to promote Tuesday's friendly against a Malaysia XI before speaking exclusively to Arsenal.com.

"The fans are really passionate out here - you could say bordering on crazy!" said Oxlade-Chamberlain. "No, they are really good people, really respectful too. They are passionate and intense, but they respect your space and respect you as a person.

"We have only been here an hour but it's already been a massive experience for me personally, and even for the boys who were here last year. It's blown everyone away again."

Oxlade-Chamberlain is part of a 24-man Arsenal squad which will spend eight days in Asia, playing matches in Beijing and Hong Kong as well as Kuala Lumpur.

"For us to come out here, it shows that we do care about the fans all over the world," he added. "Coming to a place like Malaysia, and seeing them all, they give us so much excitement.

"I've only been here an hour and I can already say I want to come back next year!

"You see how passionate the fans are about the football club and you personally, so it's important for us to come here and show that we do care."
