Perri Shakes-Drayton
400m hurdles

Great Britain's Perri Shakes-Drayton won her first-ever race at the Olympic Games to qualify for the semi-finals of the women's 400m hurdles. The 23 year-old finished in a time of 54.62 sec, the third quickest of her career.
Meanwhile, Harry Martin was part of the men's hockey team which produced a spirited fightback against world champions Australia at the RIverbank Arena. Great Britain were trailing 3-0 early in the second half but clawed their way back to earn a draw.
