Kristoffer Olsson admits that Marseille will provide a stern test of Arsenal’s credentials in the opening game of the NextGen Series.
Terry Burton’s side make their debut in the competition - which has been billed as a Champions League for under-19s - against the French club at Underhill on Wednesday night.
It is a major occasion for the Club’s rising stars, and Olsson is confident the Gunners will rise to the challenge.
“We are all looking forward to it, it is great opportunity for everybody,” Olsson told Arsenal.com. “To get to play against the best players of your age group will be a great experience.
“I played for Sweden Under-17s against the French national team and they were very good, so Marseille will be tough opponents.
“French teams have everything; they are strong and very good technically, so I expect Wednesday's match to be a good test.”
Arsenal have been drawn against Marseille, Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos in Group Six, but Olsson believes the Gunners have the quality to win the whole competition.
“I think we can win it,” he said. “We have a great academy and youth team, so we have a good chance.”
