Classy midfielder Chuks took the next steps in his promising career with a first-team debut against Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup last season.
He was rewarded for his consistent performances in the reserves with a brief cameo against the League Two side, before going on to score six goals in just 10 appearances for the second string.
The technically-gifted playmaker also enjoyed loan spells in League One with Stevenage and Preston North End respectively and scored his first league goal with the latter on his debut against Bury.
"It was really good [to make my debut against Shrewsbury], it was like all the hard work, all the training down the years had paid off," Aneke said. "But [that game] was just the tip of the iceberg for me, I want to go on to do bigger and better things for this club. I have a lot to achieve and accomplish this season."
Chuks was included in the tour party to Asia in summer 2012 and scored the winner against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur.Copyright 2017 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
