Samir Nasri... wants to win a trophy for Aaron Ramsey
Nasri - We will fight constantly for Ramsey
Samir Nasri says the Arsenal squad will have Aaron Ramsey in the back of their minds as they chase glory at home and abroad in the next two months.
The Wales midfielder faces a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a double fracture to his leg during the win at Stoke on February 27. Ever since Ramsey's shocking injury, Arsène Wenger and his players have pledged to win a trophy for the 19-year-old and they are still on course in the Premier League and the Champions League.
Nasri started the campaign nursing a broken leg of his own but is now back to his best. He expects Ramsey to make a full recovery too and admits that the teenager's plight will be an inspiration to Arsenal for the rest of the season.
"We will fight for him constantly, because what happened to him was really bad," he told the Official Matchday Programme.
"At the start of the season I broke my leg too, but it was not like Aaron’s injury. We could tell on the pitch that it was something very serious.
"I was talking to Djibril Cisse, my former team-mate at Marseille, last week because he had the same injury, and he’s optimistic about the future for Aaron.
"As for Aaron himself, he is doing well, his morale is good - he has all the support from the fans and when you have an injury like this that’s really important.
"We had good news about his surgery this week so we are glad about that and hope he gets well soon."
