MY WORLD CUP

My World Cup... Bacary Sagna

My World Cup: France defender Bacary Sagna

Welcome to a new series on Arsenal.com - My World Cup.

In the weeks leading up to this summer's tournament in South Africa we'll bring you the views of the Arsenal players - some who will be involved, and some who won't.

The cosmopolitan nature of Arsène Wenger's squad means they have a wide range of memories from football's most famous competition. In part four, Bacary Sagna reflects on France's fortunes.

My first memory of France at the World Cup is...
"The Final against Brazil [at France 1998]. I think all of the country was watching the game and the atmosphere was incredible."

Our best World Cup was...
"I think it was France 1998 because we won it. To win something in your own country is always different."

My country's outstanding World Cup game was...
"I think the Final against Brazil was the best game ever."

Our most memorable individual performance at the World Cup was...
"Zinedine Zidane in the Final because he scored two goals. It was amazing.”

My favourite World Cup tournament was...
"It was USA 1994. Brazil had Romario and it was as I was discovering football!"

My most memorable game overall is...
"It was in 1994. It was Brazil against Cameroon, it was a good game with two good teams and good players on the pitch."
