Welcome to a new series on Arsenal.com - My World Cup.
In the weeks leading up to this summer's tournament in South Africa we'll bring you the views of the Arsenal players - some who will be involved, and some who won't.
The cosmopolitan nature of Arsène Wenger's squad means they have a wide range of memories from football's most famous competition. In part five, Tomas Rosicky reflects on Czech Republic's fortunes.
My first memory of my country at the World Cup is...
"That would be the World Cup in Italy in 1990. We got through to the Quarter-Finals. We had a striker called Tomas Skuhravy who scored a lot of goals and Ivan Hasek who was a good player. He is now president of our federation. It was a very successful team in 1990."
Our best World Cup was...
"The best one was in 1962. We played in the Final against Brazil but we lost. The tournament was in Chile. I remember watching some footage from that and we lost 3-1. It was a successful tournament for us."
My country's outstanding World Cup game was...
"I don't think we have this kind of special game in the World Cup. But for example when we played the European Championship in Portugal in 2004 there was a game against Netherlands where we went 2-0 down and won 3-2."
Our most memorable individual performance at the World Cup was...
"At the last World Cup we didn't make it out of the group. Recently the World Cups have not been our thing."
My favourite World Cup tournament was...
"My favourite would be Italy 1990 because I started to watch it properly and I started to really be into football. I have good memories of this World Cup."
