Steve Morrow will go down in Arsenal folklore as the man who scored a League Cup Final winner - and broke his arm during the post-match celebrations.

The Irishman works behind the scenes at the Club now but his moment of glory came in 1993 when his goal secured a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley.

Steve was an unlikely hero but his joy turned to pain when captain Tony Adams lifted him up and then accidentally dropped him on the Wembley turf after the final whistle.

The matchwinner was taken to hospital, missing out on the post-match presentation. But he went on to make history by becoming the first man to receive a winner's medal before an FA Cup Final.

In this exclusive interview, Steve tells the story of that incredible day in April 1993. He discusses:

  • the build-up to the match
  • Paul Merson at the peak of his powers
  • the story of his winning goal
  • how he broke his arm
  • Tony Adams' remorse
  • making history at the FA Cup Final
  • the current side's quest for the League Cup

Subscribers can now watch this interview 'on demand' on Arsenal TV Online.
