Ignasi Miquel says Arsenal have to quickly move on from Saturday’s defeat against Liverpool and focus on a crucial week domestically and in Europe.

The young defender made his Premier League debut at Emirates Stadium at the weekend when two late goals brought an end to a run of over four hours without conceding this season.

Arsenal travel to Udinese for the second leg of their Champions League Play-Off on Wednesday before facing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday and Miquel insists attention must now turn to an important seven days.

“We have to work hard and forget about this result,” he told

“Next week we have Manchester United and, firstly, Udinese in the Champions League. It is pointless to think about [the Liverpool] result.

“We have to be positive because Udinese have to score two goals. We have to be positive, give 100 per cent and, if we do that, I am sure we can win it.”

The full interview with Ignasi is now available on Arsenal Player. He discusses: his Premier League debut, his thoughts when he was told to get ready, going down to ten men, an important week ahead and Udinese.
