Ignasi Miquel wants to kick on and push for more Champions League appearances, following his European debut against Olympiacos on Tuesday.

The Spanish defender replaced the injured Andre Santos in the second half and had an immediate impact with a hand in Yossi Benayoun’s excellent goal.
Miquel says he can only benefit from the experience in Greece and hopes this was not a mere cameo.

“It was amazing, it was a great atmosphere,” he told Arsenal Player. “I never expected it to be like this and making my debut in the Champions League is great for me.

“Unfortunately we lost but it was my next step for me. I just need to get here more often now.

“You could see that they went out like they had to win. They won but unfortunately they didn't go through. They had a great game, pressed up a lot and eventually got the goals.

“I think we had quite a lot of chances in the second had to draw the game but that's football.

“They backed up once in the game and that was when we scored, but they couldn't do it again in case they lost. They pressed up so we couldn't play our football that much and got the result.“
