A solid defensive performance gave Thierry Henry the platform for his matchwinning turn in the FA Cup, according to Ignasi Miquel.

The Spaniard enhanced his reputation with another solid 90 minutes for the first team in Monday night’s Third-Round win over Leeds United at Emirates Stadium.

And Miquel believes that resolute defending is the key to Arsenal’s success - because they will always create and take chances.

“We knew that if we kept a clean sheet we would probably win the game,” Miquel told Arsenal Player. “Because we are a good team and we know we are going to create chances and score goals.

“We did well. Everybody knew that Leeds would come here and it would be a tough game for us. But I think we dominated the game from the beginning to the end and we deserved the result.

“I think this was a massive result for us to get back to winning ways. I think in the Premier League, every game right now is a tough one. We can't do much more than work and try to play our game.”
