Young Mexican striker Carlos Vela has been granted a work permit and will join up with the Arsenal first-team squad for pre-season training in July.
Vela, 19, who joined Arsenal from Celta Vigo in January 2007, has been on loan at Spanish side Osasuna for the entire 2007/08 season. He was a regular in the side, scoring three goals in 32 appearances.
The young striker, who has already made three appearances for the full Mexican national team, scoring once, also spent time on loan with Spanish second division side Salamanca during the 2006/07 campaign.
Speaking recently, Arsène Wenger said: "Vela will be involved with the first-team next season. He has played the whole season at Osasuna on the left wing and he had to work hard there. But for me it is not his position, he is a central striker, an Eduardo type. He is a great young player."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
