on the Olympiacos game…
Of course it was a disappointing result for the whole team. Some players who had played a lot of matches stayed at home and therefore there was another squad for the game. I think it was a disappointing experience for the whole team.

on the Manchester clubs' exit…
I don't think anybody expected that, but in the Champions League if you make some mistakes in the Group Stage, it's difficult to go through. There were some games, especially for Man City, like Napoli away that were very disappointing for them. We managed that much better.

on whether Arsenal have a better chance now...
I hope so! There are still some massive teams left in this tournament, there are enough good squads left in there.

on facing Everton...
I played some friendly matches against Everton with Werder Bremen. We went to Everton once and they came to us in pre-season. We had a good match against them and I know a bit about the players and how they usually play. I think every team has its own speciality and strengths. Everton are a good side but hopefully we can use our own strengths to get the three points on Saturday.

on Mikel Arteta
I noticed him in the first match we played against Everton [with Werder Bremen]. He is so experienced, it is unbelievable to have him in the squad. He gives a lot of advice to the young players, and to me as well. He is very important for the squad. He has done well in the last few games and hopefully he can do that in the future too. I think he can.

on Arteta's discipline in midfield...
It's important that the whole team is defending, like we have done in the last few months. I think that's the best way to have a compact defence, that's the first thing for success.

on four injured full-backs…
We need more full-backs I think! It's not good for the squad if so many full-backs are injured, but what can I say? We have to manage the situation. We have had some bad situations with injuries in the last month but we managed quite well.

on Arsenal's realistic ambitions…

We are looking forward to climbing the league more and more. We have had a lot of pressure to get to fifth in the last month but we need more consistency, in December more than ever. Therefore I hope we can pick up a lot of points to get to the top four. We want more than that, of course.

on Arsenal's history…

I understand it a little bit. I don't know so much about the history but I know it's massive. I've heard a lot about it. I want to be part of the Club and you have to celebrate the birthday of Arsenal's 125th anniversary. Hopefully I can be part of the future for a long, long time.
