Arsène Wenger insists that Arsenal's title belief has been strengthened despite the two defeats in Manchester.
The Frenchman believes the performances against Manchester United and Manchester City deserved to be rewarded.
"I believe even at Manchester United, and at Manchester City, we have shown quality in games and were not rewarded," said Wenger.
When asked about the defeats, the manager was adamant that they had not altered the Gunners’ belief that they can win the Premier League title.
"Not at all. It has even strengthened it," insisted Wenger. "I believe there was enough substance in both games to strengthen our resolve and for us to come out even stronger.
"Of course we were frustrated but we have a good opportunity to strengthen our belief with what we have shown. We have a good opportunity to show that in future games."
Wenger added that the comeback against Liege demonstrated how mentally strong his team is, and says Arsenal need to show the same qualities to bounce back in the League.
"As long as a football game is not over you have a chance to win it. We had a good opportunity to show our strength on Wednesday night and mentally we did,” he said.
"If we keep going like that I am confident that our strength will come out in every single game."Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 18 Sep 2009
