Arsenal's Arturo Lupoli has won the Carling Cup New Talent
Award for 2005/06.
The diminutive striker beat off the challenge of former Parma
team-mate Giuseppe Rossi (Manchester United), Steven Davis (Aston
Villa), Charles N'Zogbia (Newcastle United), Jerome Thomas
(Charlton Athletic) and Ben Watson (Crystal Palace) to land the
prize for his performances in this year's competition.
Lupoli's best moment in this season's Carling Cup campaign
was unquestionably against Reading at Highbury in November.
The 18-year-old replaced Robin van Persie in the 63rd minute and
almost immediately rounded former Arsenal keeper Graham Stack
before rolling home the Gunners' third of the night.
