Arturo Lupoli did not feature as Derby took a big step towards the
play-off final at St. Mary's. The Rams fell behind after seven
minutes when Andrew Surman netted from 20 yards but Steve Howard
turned the tie on its head. The Derby striker equalised with a
looping header nine minutes before the break and fired the visitors
ahead just before the hour mark with an emphatic penalty after
Stephen Pearson had been fouled. Derby welcome Southampton to Pride
Park on Tuesday night needing just a draw to book a place at
Wembley.
