Johan Djourou made his Hannover debut as they were beaten in a nine-goal thriller at Veltins-Arena. The defender was booked after 37 minutes. A crazy second half saw eight goals scored in just over 40 minutes.


Sao Paulo 2-0 Mirassol

Saturday, January 19

Denilson played 90 minutes as Sao Paulo began the Paulista A1 season with a 2-0 win over Mirassol. The midfielder assisted Jadson’s goal nine minutes from time.

Joel Campbell

Real Betis 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Monday, January 21

Joel Campbell played the whole game as Real Betis were held to a draw at home by Athletic Bilbao. The striker was booked after 14 minutes.

Philip Roberts

Inverness CT 3-0 Aberdeen

Saturday, January 19

Philip Roberts came on as a late substitute in Inverness’ convincing victory at home to Aberdeen. The striker was introduced in the 89th minute.

Samuel Galindo

Hercules 3-0 Lugo

Sunday, January 20

Samuel Galindo was a second-half substitute for Lugo as they were comfortably beaten away at Hercules. The midfielder came on in the 54th minute.

Benik Afobe

Crystal Palace 0-0 Bolton Wanderers

Benik Afobe was an unused substitute as Bolton kept their first league clean sheet of the season in the stalemate at Crystal Palace.

Ju Young Park

Malaga 1-1 Celta Vigo

Saturday, January 19

Ju Young Park was an unused substitute as Celta Vigo came from a goal down to draw away at Malaga.


Wigan Athletic 2-3 Sunderland

Ryo was not involved as Wigan surrendered a one-goal advantage to lose at home to Sunderland.

Nicklas Bendtner

Juventus 4-0 Udinese

Saturday, January 19

Nicklas Bendtner is injured and played no part in Juventus’ convincing home victory over Udinese.


Ponferradina 1-1 Elche

Sunday, January 20

Wellington was not in the Ponferradina squad as they drew at home to high-flying Elche.
