Philippe Senderos
Everton 2-1 Chelsea
Wednesday, February 11
Philippe Senderos featured as a late substitute for Everton as they beat Chelsea 2-1 on Wednesday night courtesy of a Louis Saha brace. Florent Malouda had put Chelsea ahead after 17 minutes but 10 minutes before the break Saha found the equaliser. The French striker netted again with 25 minutes remaining, having already had a spot kick saved on the stroke of half time.
Jack Wilshere
Man City 2-0 Bolton
Tuesday, February 9
Jack Wilshere played 78 minutes on his Bolton debut as the Trotters suffered a 2-0 defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday night. Carlos Tevez opened the scoring with a 31st-minute penalty, awarded after Paul Robinson had felled Adam Johnson. Emmanuel Adebayor added a second in the 73rd minute, leaving Bolton 17th in the Premier League, one point above the drop zone.
Kyle Bartley
Preston 2-1 Sheffield United
Tuesday, February 9
Kyle Bartley played 90 minutes in Sheffield United's 2-1 defeat at Preston yesterday, just hours after joining the Blades on loan for the rest of the season. Matthew James gave North End the lead in the 10th minute and Jon Parkin doubled their advantage with 19 minutes of the game remaining. United pulled one back through Mark Yeates in the 81st minute but the visitors were unable to find an equaliser. The defeat sees Sheffield United drop out of the play-off places. Kevin Blackwell's side are now seventh in the Championship with 42 points from 30 games.
Jay Simpson
QPR 1-2 Ipswich
Tuesday, February 9
Jay Simpson's 66th-minute strike was not enough to save QPR from a 2-1 home defeat against Ipswich on Tuesday night. David Norris' deflected shot gave the Tractor Boys an eighth-minute lead and half an hour later Daryl Murphy slotted in a second. Simpson scored his tenth goal of the season midway through the second half but the Rs didn't find a second and slip to 17th in the Championship, just two points above the relegation zone.
Mark Randall
Southampton 3-1 MK Dons
Tuesday, February 9
Mark Randall scored his first MK Dons goal but was on the losing side as Southampton progressed to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final with a 3-1 home win on Tuesday night. The Saints already had a 1-0 advantage from the first leg and Rickie Lambert opened the scoring in the return fixture with a 15th-minute strike. A Dan Woodards own goal extended the hosts' lead before Randall pulled one back for MK a minute before the break. However his strike didn't trigger a comeback and Adam Lallana secured Southampton's victory with an 87th-minute goal.
Henri Lansbury
Watford 2-0 Bristol City
Tuesday, February 9
Henri Lansbury made his 20th start of the season as Watford moved up to 11th in the Championship with a 2-0 home win over Bristol City on Tuesday night. Heidar Helguson put the Hornets in front after 14 minutes and 20 minutes later their lead was extended through Martin Taylor. Malky Mackay's side are now five points behind sixth-placed Leicester City.
Kerrea Gilbert
Cardiff 2-0 Peterborough
Tuesday, February 9
Kerrea Gilbert was introduced as a half-time substitute but couldn't prevent Peterborough from suffering a 2-0 defeat in Cardiff. Chris Burke grabbed the Bluebirds' first after half an hour and Anthony Gerrard confirmed the victory with a 78th-minute strike. The Posh remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship, 12 points short of safety.
Gavin Hoyte
Brighton 0-0 Huddersfield
Tuesday, February 9
Gavin Hoyte watched from the bench as Brighton secured a 0-0 home draw with Huddersfield on Tuesday night. The point sees the Seagulls move out of the relegation zone and up to 19th in League One.
