It has been a good week for Jens Lehmann. The 36-year-old has been confirmed as Germany's No 1 keeper for the World Cup and his new one-year contract at Highbury is considered complete by Arsène Wenger.
"It is not yet [signed] but it is agreed," said the Arsenal manager during Friday's press conference. "I consider that to be done."
Wenger was talking just before news broke of Lehmann's World Cup role.
"This was the most difficult decision of my term," German coach Jurgen Klinsmann told PA. "After the match against the USA, we have carefully analysed developments over the past 22 months and have now made our decision."
