Arsenal Ladies are delighted to welcome back to the Club two former players - midfielder Rachel Yankey and defender Alex Scott.

Joining earlier signing Rachel McArthur, the duo will help the Club push for more honours this year. Yankey (26) left Arsenal to join then-professionals Fulham back in the summer of 2000 and, after a successful spell, joined Birmingham City in 2004.

At the end of the 2004/2005 campaign Rachel was invited to finish the season with New Jersey Wildcats helping them push for the national title. The team went on to beat 2004 champions Ottawa Fury 3-0 to win the 2005 W-League Championship. On the basis of that performance and others, Rachel was also named in the all-star team. Rachel has 57 England caps and has scored eight goals.

We also welcome back Alex Scott (20) who left Arsenal for Birmingham City in 2004. Alex joined the Gunners, her childhood team, in 1992 and worked her way through the youth teams.

The defender made her senior debut for the national squad in September of last year against the Netherlands after progressing through the  ranks at Under-19 and Under-21 level. Alex has 13 England caps.
