Kyle Bartley has joined Scottish Premier League champions Glasgow Rangers on loan until the end of the season.

The 19 year-old defender has returned from his loan spell at Championship side Sheffield United, where he made 23 appearances after joining The Blades in August, and has switched to Walter Smith’s side for the remainder of the campaign.

Bartley, who signed a new long-term contract at the start of the season, joined Arsenal from Bolton Wanderers in 2007 and signed professional terms in summer 2008.

The young central defender was named Captain for the Reserves last season and was also an unused substitute in all three Carling Cup matches last campaign. He also made his first-team debut in December 2009, being named in the starting line-up in the UEFA Champions League away match against Olympiacos.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Kyle the best of luck during his time with Glasgow Rangers.
