Kyle Bartley joins Sheffield United on loan

Young defender Kyle Bartley has today joined Championship side Sheffield United on loan for three months.

Bartley (18) played in all eight matches on the way to victory in last season's FA Youth Cup, scoring goals at Quarter-Final and Semi-Final stage. The imposing centre-back was also part of the Academy League winning squad last season and made 13 appearances for Neil Banfield's Reserve team.

Having joined Arsenal from Bolton in 2007, the teenager signed professional terms with the Club last summer. Kyle made his first-team debut this season, being named in the starting line-up in the UEFA Champions League away match against Olympiacos in December. He was also on the substitutes' bench for all three Carling Cup matches this season and the FA Cup Fourth Round match at Stoke City.

Bartley, who was named Reserve team Captain this season, will stay on loan at Bramall Lane until 12th May 2010.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Kyle the best of luck during his time with Sheffield United.
