Laurent Koscielny has made remarkable strides forward over the course of his two-year spell at Arsenal, but he is determined to get even better this season.

Just three years ago, the 26-year-old was playing in Ligue 2 for Tours but since then he has enjoyed a meteoric rise and was included in the France squad for Euro 2012 this summer.

Koscielny is now recognised by many observers as one of the best defenders in Europe, and he admits he has added to his game since arriving at Emirates Stadium.

“I am different because now I know the Premier League - I am more mature and more physical,” he told Arsenal Player.

“You know I like to be tactical and technical in my position, but I have worked hard to be fitter and stronger.

“Now I want to continue my progression with this club. I know I played a good season last year, but I want to do more for Arsenal this year. I want to win a trophy.”
