Kerr on victory and eight straight wins

Shelley Kerr
Shelley Kerr will preside over her first cup final since becoming Ladies boss

Shelley Kerr spoke to Arsenal.com after her team beat Doncaster Rovers Belles on Sunday afternoon to secure their eighth straight league win. Read on to see what she said:

on a close game…
We expected a closer game and Doncaster have come off the back off a good win for them. We made a couple of changes as well today. But they’re a tough opponent and I think Doncaster changed personnel. And certainly they provided tough opposition for us. But we’re delighted with the three points obviously. That’s the most important thing at this point in the season.

on conceding…
I think we gifted them the goal and that’s what happens sometimes. They have players that are capable of scoring against you like Sue Smith. She's got a lot of quality and she took her goal really well. But thankfully for us we were creating plenty of chances, so it was just about being patient.

on Doncaster…
In the first half especially we created so many chances and their goalkeeper has had a great game. And obviously defensively they’ve done really well too, so they were difficult to break down.

on a team performance…
I don’t like singling out any players in the team. It was a tough game for us today so I think overall as a team performance in terms of getting the three points - that’s what we’re delighted with.
