Martin Keown knows a thing or two about growing up at Arsenal. He was part of a golden generation of young Gunners which emerged in the 1980s and also included Tony Adams, David Rocastle, Paul Merson and Michael Thomas.
Now Martin is as captivated as all Arsenal fans by the latest crop of talent emerging from the Club's youth ranks. Indeed, he has seen many of them at close hand after spending a year at the training ground since his retirement in 2004.
Subscribers can now watch part one of an exclusive two-part interview with Martin on Arsenal TV Online. In it he discusses:
- the 'Carling Cup kids'
- Jack Wilshere and Carlos Vela
- the youngsters' mentality
- his 'mentoring' role at Arsenal
- the advice he gave the youngsters
- how life in the Arsenal youth ranks has changed
- why he left Highbury in the 1980s
- why he has no regrets
Part two of this interview will be available on Wednesday.
