Four hundred Junior Gunners participated in Arsenal’s exclusive Camping on the Pitch event at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Having won the chance to attend by entering a competition open to Members only, the boys and girls aged seven to 12 years of age played on the pitch in matches organised by the Club's Community coaches before dining in the exclusive Club Level.
After watching the Champions League final and playing a few games of table football, the JGs bedded down for the night in the 200 two-person tents put out on the award-winning pitch in a ‘125’ formation, with mascot Gunnersaurus making sure everyone was tucked in safely.
A little rain helped wake all the boys and girls up bright and early on Sunday morning. Then it was time to pack up the tents and head back to the Royal Oak Suite for breakfast before the lucky Gunners were picked up by their parents.
Sue Campbell, Head of Events and Supporter Liaison, said: "The Camping on the Pitch events over the past couple of years are proving to be so popular, and I think it's fair to say that the 400 boys and girls here had an absolutely brilliant time. This event is just one of the exclusive benefits members can enjoy throughout the season, and we're proud to be able to provide a truly unique experience for them all."
