Carl Jenkinson says the entire Arsenal squad is excited about playing alongside new signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.

The Club sealed a deal for Germany international striker Podolski in April, before highly-rated French forward Giroud agreed a move last month.

And Jenkinson believes the new additions will provide a major boost to Arsène Wenger’s squad this season.

“They are two world-class players, they are fantastic signings and fantastic assets for this Club,” he told Arsenal Player.

“I am really looking forward to playing alongside them both. Everyone is delighted that we have signed players of that calibre.”

Jenkinson was part of the Arsenal squad that won the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup on Saturday, and was pleased to supply the cross for Henri Lansbury’s goal against Anderlecht.

“It was nice to get an assist,” he said. “I always try to get as many as I can, so it was good to get one here.

“Against Anderlecht it wasn’t like we dominated, but I felt we were in control and got that vital goal. But the main thing though was getting minutes under our belts at this stage in pre-season.”
