Carl Jenkinson says the ambition in the Arsenal squad is so strong that they believe they can achieve anything this season.

Arsène Wenger’s side have started the campaign well, losing just once in their opening eight games in all competitions.

Jenkinson is pleased with the team’s start, and says the squad are very confident of enjoying a successful season.

“In all honesty, everyone in the changing room believes the sky is the limit,” he said.

“I think we can achieve what we want to this year. We really believe in ourselves and in the ability we have got in the squad.

“We’ll take one game at a time and see where it takes us.”

Arsenal suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday, going down 2-1 to Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.  While disappointed with the defeat, Jenkinson says the squad’s focus has turned to Champions League clash against Olympiacos.

“Everyone was disappointed, mainly with the manner of the defeat - the goals we conceded were avoidable,” he said.

“But we’ve come in and that is forgotten about. You have got to move on and we are just focusing on Olympiacos now.”
