Carl Jenkinson says that Arsenal’s victory over Udinese on Wednesday night underlined the squad’s unity.

Jenkinson started at right-back in only his third competitive Gunners appearance and the 19-year-old thinks the team spirit in the dressing room was a catalyst for a vital win.

“I’m a bit speechless to be honest; I’m just over the moon for the boys, the Club and the fans,” Jenkinson told Arsenal Player.

“We’ve had some down times lately and that win is massive for us. It showed how united we are, how together we are.

“I’m just happy that over the 90 minutes we showed how good we are, got the win we needed and we’re in the Champions League where we should be.

“Tonight showed completely how together we are, and our character shone through. We had some tricky times out there where a lesser team might have crumbled and would not have battled like we did.”

The full interview with Carl is now available on Arsenal Player. He discusses: the togetherness of the squad, a tricky test and Szczesny's heroics.
