Francis Jeffers rescued a point for England Under-21s on Tuesday night with a typically ruthless finish in a 1-1 draw against Turkey.
The Arsenal striker collected a lofted pass from Gareth Barry, found a yard of space and arrowed a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Jeffers' strike brought England level with 25 minutes on the clock at St James' Park. Samli had opened the scoring from close range 12 minutes earlier.
The 22-year-old has been prolific for the Under-21s and now has 13 goals in 13 games at that level, matching the record tally of Alan Shearer.
Jermaine Pennant was also in David Platt's squad for Tuesday night's European Championship qualifier, but he was not named among the substitutes.Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
