Arsenal Football Club is pleased to announce that Islington-born goalkeeper James Shea has signed a new contract with the Club.
Having excelled last season after becoming a mainstay in the triumphant FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League ‘double' wining-side, Shea (18) topped the 2008/09 campaign off with three second-string outings to his name before signing professional terms with the London club last summer.
Known for his superb shot-stopping ability, James also improved immeasurably in his kicking and handling last term and has continued his good form with consistent performances when selected in Neil Banfield's Reserves this season. James was also included in the squad for the Gunners' first Carling Cup fixture of this season against West Bromwich Albion in September.
Everyone at the Club is looking forward to James' continued contribution and development with Arsenal in the future.
