Locals to take part in 'Sing Arsenal' celebration
Arsenal fans and the Islington community have been invited to unite in chorus to revive the musical side of the game as part of the world's biggest all-city 'sing-along'.
Led by celebrity Arsenal fan Tom Watt and the BBC Singers, Islington's community will stage a 'sing-along' of Arsenal inspired footie favourites, old and new as a contribution towards the 'Sing London' campaign.
'Sing Arsenal' will be a fun and intergenerational sing-along of Arsenal inspired songs, to celebrate the history of Arsenal Football Club and it's place at the heart of Islington's local community. Led by the BBC Singers, the event will take place between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday July 5, at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium. Everybody who attends will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed item from next season.
This family friendly event aims to re-ignite the relationship football and singing have always enjoyed and will be staged under the clock, near to the South Bridge on the podium at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal's new 60,000 seat stadium.
The 'Sing Arsenal' event, which will be played live into BBC London radio's Drivetime show is part of Sing London - an all-city sing-along, which is being held across the capital between June 29 and July 8, with over 100 events taking place to unite the city in song.2 Jul 2007
