Israel pulled two back but Didier Drogba sealed the win from the penalty spot seven minutes from time. Gervinho was substituted after 88 minutes with the game won.


Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna
France 1-1 Chile

Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna both started as France drew 1-1 with Chile on Wednesday. Nasri played 66 minutes before being replaced while Sagna was withdrawn nine minutes from the end. Loic Remy gave Laurent Blanc’s side an early lead but Nicolas Cordova earned Chile a point in the 76th minute.

Russia 1-0 Serbia

Andrey Arshavin played 31 minutes before being substituted as Russia beat Serbia 1-0 on Wednesday. The Arsenal forward was replaced by Diniyar Bilyaletdinov just after the half-hour mark in Moscow with the game goalless. Substitute Pavel Pogrebnyak scored the only goal eight minutes into the second half to give Dick Advocaat’s side victory.
