Gael Clichy, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna and William Gallas
France 2-1 Costa Rica
Wednesday, May 26
William Gallas and Bacary Sagna both started for France on Wednesday night as Les Bleus came from behind to beat Costa Rica 2-1. Abou Diaby appeared as a late substitute but Gael Clichy did not come off the bench.
Carlos Hernandez gave the visitors a 12th-minute lead in Lens when he found the bottom corner from 25 yards. But France drew level in the 22nd minute when Douglas Sequeira deflected Franck Ribery's cross into his own net.
Gallas was withdrawn at half time as Raymond Domenech made three changes. Diaby was introduced in the 77th minute and was heavily involved in France's winner.
He received the ball on the halfway line and showed some clever footwork as he evaded two challenges to set up Mathieu Valbuena who drove home from range with seven minutes remaining.
