The latter played the full 90 minutes of Germany's 3-0 victory against the Faroe Islands last Friday, while Podolski came on as a 75th-minute substitute.

Olivier Giroud played an hour of France's 3-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Belarus on Tuesday night. Laurent Koscielny was an unused substitute. Abou Diaby scored the only goal of the game as France beat Finland 1-0 last Friday, while Koscielny and Giroud remained on the bench.

Conor Henderson was on target with a sensational strike from range in the Republic of Ireland Under-21s' 4-2 victory over Italy on Monday. The midfielder also played the full 90 minutes in his nation's 2-1 defeat to Hungary last Thursday.
