Arsenal's lengthening injury list has extended Jeremie Aliadiere's career with the Club.
Arsène Wenger had reluctantly made the 23-year-old striker available for transfer in the January window. But with Alex Hleb and Robin van Persie out for lengthy spells, the manager now admits he needs to keep hold of every striker he has at the Club.
"I did not want to let him go anyway," said Wenger. "And I believe it is a good opportunity for him and someone like Julio Baptista to show how good they are.
"I believe that he will come through with some goals until the end of the season."
The only player who might leave before the transfer window closes is Alex Song. His manager is looking to farm out the 19-year-old midfielder on loan.
"The only one to go out could be Song because I want him to play somewhere," said Wenger. "Diaby is back and Denilson has shown that he is ready to play so, in central midfield, we are a bit congested with Flamini, Denilson, Diaby, Fabregas and Gilberto."
