Abou Diaby and Theo Walcott should be fit for next week’s Champions League tie at Celtic.
The French midfielder sustained a groin injury in pre-season while the England star missed his country’s midweek friendly in Holland with a back problem.
Diaby was classed as a doubt ahead of Saturday’s big kick-off at Everton but Arsène Wenger confirmed that he will not make the trip to Goodison Park. However, the manager hopes to have Diaby and Walcott back for Tuesday’s first leg in Glasgow.
“For them it is a question of days,” said Wenger at his pre-match press conference.
“They should be available for next week. Diaby certainly, Walcott is still a question mark but he has a good chance.”
Tomas Rosicky (hamstring), Samir Nasri (broken leg), Johan Djourou (knee) and Lukasz Fabianski (knee) will also miss Saturday’s game at Everton.
