As many supporters may be aware, it is customary for visiting German fans to participate in a short march to a visiting stadium, when supporting their team at away matches.
Arsenal FC and FC Schalke 04, together with the Metropolitan Police Service and German police, have worked closely to facilitate this activity to ensure minimal disruption to the normal flow of supporters coming to the stadium on Wednesday night.
In order to make the German supporters’ route into the stadium as easy as possible, it has been decided to guide them on the ‘South Ramp’ prior to entry to the stadium, so that ticket checks and searches can take place at the turnstiles in smaller groups.
We expect the ‘South Ramp’ to be heavily congested from 6.30pm on Wednesday for approximately one hour, as the Club and police manage the entry of the Schalke supporters into the stadium.
The ‘South Ramp’ is the slope immediately to the right of The Armoury, which leads up to the stadium.
Arsenal fans are advised to use the steps either side of The Armoury to access the podium and turnstiles during this period. Both the Ken Friar and Danny Fiszman Bridges will also be available for supporters at all times.
The ‘South Ramp’ will be open for access to all supporters after the match.
