Arsène Wenger has question marks over his two full backs ahead of Sunday's Carling Cup Final against Chelsea.

As expected the Arsenal manger has ruled out a number of major stars from the game because they did not participate in the earlier rounds.

Justin Hoyte (hamstring) and Gael Clichy (foot) were in line to start but both are struggling with injury. They face fitness tests on Friday. Armand Traore is on stand-by if his fellow Frenchman fails to make it however Hoyte's possible absence would cause a re-shuffle as Emmanuel Eboue (ankle) is also injured.

"Ljungberg, Gallas, Henry and Lehmann won't play," confirmed Wenger at Thursday's pre-match press conference. "Eboue is out. He is set to join in [training] tomorrow so I don't think I will involve him on Sunday.

"Clichy looks like he will be out as well. It's inflammation on his foot after he got a knock and he can't kick the ball. He has a scan and we'll see tomorrow. Traore plays if he doesn't.

"Justin Hoyte will have a fitness test too because he has been out."
