Alex Hleb believes the form of Emmanuel Adebayor is 'ideal' as the Gunners enter the next crucial phase of the season.

The Togo striker has bagged a staggering 19 goals this term and provided a focal point that his team-mates, especially those in wide positions, can thrive on.

"He's in fantastic form - it's great for him and for the team," Hleb told the Arsenal matchday programme.

"Now with important games such as Manchester United, AC Milan and others coming up it's ideal to have a striker who's taking his chances whichever way they come and showing such all-round ability.

"Everything is coming off for him at the moment."

In the past, Arsenal have been criticised for failing to send crosses into the box. Now they have a huge incentive for doing so, as the Belarussian explained.

"He's a great target for crosses, but we're not practising them more as such. I know that we can all cross well.

"Sometimes you'd like to dribble but can't, so we're trying to get more balls in to Ade because he's scoring a lot of goals that way. He's got a great leap."
