on getting into the last 16:
When you get the draw at the start, our aim is always to go as far as possible in this competition. Last week was a great start. We didn’t play well in the first 45 minutes today, but in the second half we were a lot better.

on killing the tie off at the start of the second half:
The first goal was always going to be important and fair play to Jennifer Beattie who came off the bench and did what she’s doing of late, which is putting the ball in the back of the net.

on the defensive performance:
A clean sheet says it all really. We’ve got a new partnership in there with Yvonne Tracy and Ciara Grant. Fair play to them, they stepped up and did really well. Yvonne hasn’t played for a long time because it’s hard to get into our back four but she stepped in and did well.

on facing Potsdam in the next round:
It’s always going to be tough against the Germans. We’ve got to go there believing we can get through and that is going to be our aim.

on how her England players performed:
The England players always have a precedence to set because the limelight is always on them. I thought Rachel Yankey did really well in the second half. Kelly Smith was coming back from injury today and I think you can tell she hasn’t played for a while. Alex Scott did really well. We don’t normally play Steph Houghton at left back but she stepped in and had a good game. Jordan Nobbs has lots of energy and will always give you everything and Ellen White did well when she came off the bench.
